Repetitive and too long
Oh, my goodness! It went on and on repeating information. My days on earth are limited and I just lost 4 plus hours.dontb
User's recommendation: Don't buy
No way to just take the test
Just give the test without having to listen to things over and over.
I had rather pay more than sit through this.
Its awful.
Just give the test!!!
User's recommendation: Not worth it....time wise or $$

Verified Reviewer |6 hours of my life I will never get back
- - The course is slow and repetitive; health content is painful; vehicle update is interesting but hard to reach; insurance discount isn't worth it.
The online course is ridiculously slow and repetitive. The health section alone was so painful to endure, and why do we need exercise class instruction?
There should be an option to speed up the pace.
The vehicle technology update section was interesting, but you have to sit through almost 2.5 hours of useless babble to even get to it. The insurance discount is not worth this waste of time, and I wish I had read reviews before paying for this garbage.
User's recommendation: Don’t do it unless you need something to bore you to sleep

Verified Reviewer |Poorly composed course
- - Three versions were merged, causing repetition.
- - The course ran 6 hours, not 4, with items read aloud and content.
Looks like 3 people wrote their version, then AARP tried to marry them together. Items were repeated 3-4 times!
This makes for a clunky show. Every bullet point was read out loud. This makes for a boring class. They could expand on items.
Can't people read English? Using fast speed, this '4 hr' course took 6 hrs to complete. This included a lot of 'technical' stuff that was not in prior versions.
This was my 4th AARP course; I found the in-class version a better option. Possibly AI could vastly improve the materials.
- Used to be a good value and product
- Brutal on your mind
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Not to my friends/family

Verified Reviewer |They no longer provide a completion certificate. This was not revealed until after I finished the course.
They no longer provide a completion certificate. This was not revealed until after I finished the course. The only new thing I learned was that I wasted $21.
- Common sense review
- Useless without certificate
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Avoid to save time nd money
Not good
I had to push the enter button every 25 seconds. What a terrible experience. Instead of playing the videos, you have to keep hitting the enter button.

Verified ReviewerSafe Driving Course
- - Don't waste money on their course; pay $4 more for in-person, and a friend said it sucks.
- - It booted me and could turn a 6-hour course into 12-15 hours.
Don't waste your money on their course. Spend the extra $4 and take it somewhere in person.
Multiple times it booted me off the course because it didn't like how I kept typing in the verification sentence and made me start from the beginning multiple times.
This 6-hour course, if I'm lucky, will only take me 12-15 hours if it doesn't keep dropping me. A friend found out I signed up and laughed, saying, 'Let me know how it worked out for you; it sucks.
- Waste of my time and money
Preferred solution: Them to fix their app so it allows you to take the course once and not continually like the never ending story
User's recommendation: Take the course somewhere in person

Verified ReviewerReview of course
- - Segment gaps felt long, up to 10 seconds.
- - Level 5 was the most useful for seniors.
- - Repetition felt excessive but reinforced learning; more emphasis on signs and grouping similar signs.
No problem, just after course comments that were not available to make in survey. 1.
Felt the time between segments was too long, sometimes up to 10 seconds. 2. Felt level 5 was best for information to know for us senior. 3.
Safe driver for older adults, felt little too much repetition. 4. Overall felt repeating information given to reenforce our learning and remember the information was good. 5.
Felt maybe more emphasis could have been given to signs and maybe group the different types of same meaning signs for people to know. Maybe have a matching quiz to see we knew the different types. Not sure how to do this on computer, maybe too hard to do. Mentioned go to low beam if see deer, not sure why on this, seems like high beam would be better to either freeze the deer or scare the deer away.
Hope you take this feedback ok, I enjoyed the course and was definitely presented well. Thanks for your time. MJ. ps.
I am not a pissed consumer like it says in your disclosure.
I clicked on the tos and it gave me an error. I still checked the read portion so this could be sent off.

Verified ReviewerResolved: AARP cust service
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
Paid for course that I realized that I didn't need since the one I have is not expired. Asked for refund and they did.
This was the most boring, repettive course I have ever attended. And when I asked about the money-back guarantee, I was told it only was available if you didn't complete the course,
- - Read the fine print about refunds before signing up.
- - Refund only if you don't complete the course.
- - No refund after completing all 8 hours.
DRead the fine print, people, about the refund before you sign up for this waste-of-time and money course.
Was told you could only get a refund if you didn't complete the course. Would have stopped after first few hours instead of suffering thru all 8 hours - and then NO REFUND!!!Don
User's recommendation: Don't spend your time and money on this worthless course.

Verified ReviewerTerrible course
- - The course felt repetitive with 5 seconds of silent screen, no audio.
- - Not worth the time for seniors; took it partly to help with insurance costs.
This has been a waste of time. The redundancy, repetitiveness and having to "watch" a screen for 5 seconds with no audio is absolutely ridiculous.
I am 59 and I think if anyone in their 70's or 80's tried to do this course they would be as miserable as I am. We are not stupid old people. Make a class that is truly worth our time.
I did this partially to help with insurance costs. I am not sure if I will do it again.
User's recommendation: no...only do it if you want the discout on your insurance.
Why would any company provide such a horrible product to drivers?
- - Course presumes very low driving skill.
- - It doesn’t ask about driving experience or CDL.
- - Suggest NHSTA or state courses instead.
This course presumes you are a total driving moron. If you don't know what redundancy or insanity is, just take this course.
There should be a law against wasting a human being's time in this way.
They never ask what your driving experience or level is, as in CDL or other designations. In this day of AI, if you need something for insurance discounts or other valid reasons, take a different course like NHSTA, or your state sponsored course or your employer , something else, and NOT this AARP course. These people are taking advantage of insurance company requirements and not interested at all in making you a better driver. The land of the open palm.
Go to your local community center, college, local law enforcement or other community functions. AARP knows better. They should provide links, ways to engage in emergency phone numbers, GPS instructions, and so on. NOT THIS COURSE!
It provides nothing for today's driver.
Grow up AARP. Learn how to be considerate.

I am 85 years old and, at times, unable to comprehend the questions. It takes too long to listen to the screens and they get repetitive.

Verified ReviewerResolved: I cannot find how to print my certificate
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. A computer knowledgeable person resolved my problem.
I was able to print my certificate. My problem was computer information was too complicated for me
Show how to print certificate right at the end of the course. Not just ending without directions how to print.
I am wasting much time trying to follow directions. None of them bring up certificate!
- Insurance price reduction
Preferred solution: Easy directions how to print certificate. I have certificate number.

Fully agree. I timed some segments, most were 1-2 minutes longer than advertised. I know California is a nanny State and requires eight hours, but this course could be done in under five hours and still be effective.
Thank you for the warnings.
